- Note: Prerequisite: SPAN 310 or PERMISSION OF THE INSTRUCTOR. Section 62223 focuses on the language and cultures of medicine and healthcare in Spanish-speaking communities in the U.S. and includes a community-based service learning component at local hospitals and clinics. Section 62225 focuses on developing Spanish skills used in the fields of journalism and social media. Students will create social media content and have the opportunity of sending it for publication through a collaboration with Annenberg Media Center. Students will have the opportunity to engage in service-learning projects in both sections.
