Advanced Principles of Physics I (4.0 units)

Gateway to the majors and minors in Physics and Astronomy. Introductory treatment intended for well-qualified students. Dynamics of particles and rigid bodies, conservation laws, wave motion, thermodynamics, heat engines, entropy.
  • Prerequisite: 1 from (MATH 126 or MATH 129)
  • Corequisite: 1 from (MATH 226 or MATH 229)
  • General Education: This course satisfies the university's general education requirement.
  • Note: This course carries GE credit but it is intended for a specific group of students rather than a general student audience. It is part of the curriculum for majors and pre-professional students.
