Neutron-induced fission chain reactions, reactor criticality. Neutron transport and diffusion in nuclear reactors. Mathematical/computational foundation for diffusion theory and transport calculations for fission reactor design/analysis. Recommended preparation: Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
  • Prerequisite: (AME 526 and AME 581 and PHYS 153)
