Fundamentals of Healthcare Insurance Design (3.0 units)
Introduction to insurance payer types, functions, actuarial pricing methods, network design and business operations impacting the provision of health benefits and reimbursement for medical products and services. Recommended preparation: undergraduate degree in pharmacy, medicine, other healthcare, economics and administrative sciences or related disciplines; enrollment in a related MS or PhD program.
- Note: Class will meet 2 weekends in the semester: June 25 and 26 and July 30 and 31.
